About Friends of Freedom and Justice

Friends of Freedom and Justice (FFJ) is a Palestinian Authority-recognized non-profit organization established in 2008 and based in Bil'in and Ramallah. Building on peaceful resistance efforts that began in 2005, we have been at the forefront of documenting our community's challenges under occupation and advocating for human rights globally.

Resistance Begins and Organization Established

Foundation Year

The peaceful resistance movement in Bil'in began in 2005 with weekly demonstrations against land confiscation and the separation wall. Building on three years of grassroots activism, Friends of Freedom and Justice (FFJ) was formally established in 2008 as a Palestinian Authority-recognized non-profit organization based in Bil'in and Ramallah. From its inception, FFJ expanded its impact through land restoration efforts, funding university education, and supporting programs for children suffering from trauma linked to night raids. Along the way, documenting our journey became essential though not without its risks. Five cameras were broken in the process of capturing our struggle.

Our Continuing Legacy

From a small village to the world stage, our story continues to inspire movements for justice, peace, and human dignity across the globe.
